The market
Why High Point Is a Strong Short-Term Rental Market
High Point is best known for the High Point Market, the furniture trade show held each spring and fall, when buyers and exhibitors need somewhere to stay. Between markets, demand comes from High Point University families, visiting workers and travelers across the Piedmont Triad between Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
Market weeks in spring and fall bring a wave of trade visitors who often book whole homes for teams, so those dates need their own pricing and minimum-stay rules.
University move-in, graduation and family visits add demand from groups who would rather share a whole home than book several hotel rooms.
Jamestown sits right next to High Point, so a larger home there, like Duchess Ct, can serve the same market-week and family-visit demand with more space.

Rules & taxes
High Point & Guilford County Short-Term Rental Taxes
North Carolina taxes short-term stays as accommodations. Here is what the state and Guilford County publish. We could not find a High Point or Jamestown short-term rental permit page, so check zoning and any registration with the city or town before you list.
State and local sales tax on accommodations
Renting an accommodation in North Carolina, which includes a residence or cottage, is subject to the general state sales tax rate of 4.75% plus local and transit sales tax, and any local occupancy tax. Accommodation facilitator fees count as part of the taxable gross receipts.
Guilford County sales tax rate: 6.75%
The Department of Revenue lists 6.75% as the total sales and use tax rate for Guilford County (the 4.75% state rate plus the local rate), in its table of rates effective July 1, 2026.
Local room occupancy tax is paid locally
Counties and cities authorized by the General Assembly levy room occupancy tax on the same gross receipts as the state sales tax on accommodations. It is paid to the county or city, not to the Department of Revenue, and a rental agent or facilitator has the same responsibility for it as for the state sales tax.

Guilford County, Greensboro and High Point occupancy returns
The Guilford County Tax Department lists separate room occupancy forms for Greensboro, Guilford County and High Point, and says occupancy taxes are due by the fifteenth of each month for the previous month. The rates are not published on that page, so confirm them with the Tax Department.
City and town rules
We did not find an official High Point or Jamestown page on short-term rental permits or registration. Check with the City of High Point Planning & Development Department and the Town of Jamestown about zoning and any registration before you list.
Checked against the NC Department of Revenue and Guilford County sources linked above on October 7, 2026. Rates and rules change; confirm with the county and city before you list. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Pricing
Transparent, Performance-Based Pricing
BookedMore charges a percentage of your host payout — typically 15–25% — with no flat monthly fees and no setup costs. We only earn more when your High Point property earns more. Host payout is what the booking platform actually pays you after its own service fee. Cleaning fees are excluded.
For comparison, traditional full-service property management often runs in the 18–40% range as a general industry estimate. See exactly how our model works on the pricing page.
